Sri Lanka’s President Ranil Wickremesinghe has emphasised the country’s strong desire to cooperate peacefully with major economies around the world while on a four-day official visit to China.

The Sri Lankan president underlined his commitment to reviving the island country’s economy while attending a significant investment, trade, and tourist summit in Beijing on Monday (Oct. 16), according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing served as the venue for the forum, which had a significant emphasis on building potential future economic relationships. Representatives from numerous Chinese enterprises, some of whom have already made investments in Sri Lanka while others are looking into investment opportunities, graced the event. Prominent Sri Lankan businessmen were also present and keen to discuss joint venture options.
