The interim ruling prohibiting the use of the licences now in place for the sale of soft liquor has been withdrawn until Monday (Oct. 23), according to the Court of Appeal.

However, the pertinent court judgement also said that the temporary order prohibiting the issue of additional soft liquor licences will continue to be in force.

In response to two applications submitted by various parties, including the Sri Lanka Liquor Licensees’ Association, on October 10, the Court of Appeal issued this temporary ruling prohibiting the issuing of new soft liquor licences.
