The schedule for the parliamentary sessions for the presentation of the appropriations bill (the budget) for the fiscal year 2024 has been made public by the Sri Lankan parliament.
As a result, on November 13 (Monday), at noon, President Ranil Wickremesinghe will give the budget speech.
The Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill will be discussed over the course of seven days, from November 14 to November 20, from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. The Second Reading vote is set to take place on Tuesday, November 21, at 6:00 p.m.
The Committee Stage debate will then take place over the course of 19 days, from November 22 to December 12, from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. On December 13, the division on the Third Reading will start at 6:00 p.m.
