A governmental directive concerning the retirement of those over 60 in Sri Lanka’s nursing service has been overturned by the Court of Appeal.
All individuals in the four grades of the Sri Lankan Nursing Service who are over 60 must retire, according to a governmental decree that was issued.
The Court of Appeal nullified the state ruling on Tuesday (Oct. 24) after taking the issue up for hearing in this regard.
The Court further issued an order requesting the reinstatement of all people over 60 who had been placed on retirement pursuant to the state directive.
