According to reports, preparations are on to transfer the remains of a Sri Lankan woman who was murdered in Israel during the ongoing conflict with Palestine to her home country.
Anula Ratnayake’s body is being returned to Sri Lanka, according to the Sri Lankan consulate in Israel.
According to Nimal Bandara, the ambassador of Sri Lanka to Israel, the body should arrive in Colombo by Friday morning (October 27).
Nimal Bandara provided an update on the state of affairs for the affected Sri Lankans in Israel and stated that efforts are being made to find out whether any further Sri Lankans who have been reported missing had also died in the fighting.
He went on to say that in order to find out the specifics, DNA samples from the missing man’s kids have been gathered.
