For a two-year term, new members have been appointed to the Public Service Commission’s Health Service Committee and Education Service Committee.
The Public Service Commission’s secretary announced this in a special gazette notice on October 31, 2023.
The appointments took effect on October 02, retroactively.
The following individuals have joined the Health Service Committee:
Mrs. T.M.L.C. Senarathna (chairman)
Dr. Ananda Hapugoda
Mr. Nimal Saranathissa
The appointment, confirmation, and promotion of medical officers, dental officers, and Ayurvedic medical officers to preliminary grade are among the responsibilities and functions of the Health Service Committee. The members of the committee are also in charge of the annual transfers, special appeals on transfers, concessions for Efficiency Bar Examinations and observations and suggestions on transfer appeals that are sent to the Public Service Commission.

Mrs. W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara
In addition to its other responsibilities, the Education Service Committee is in charge of hiring people in line with approved recruitment minutes and schemes, confirming employment, terminating employment, returning to the previous position, appointing people based on acting or attending to duties, accepting resignations from the service, reviewing appeals against notices of vacation from post, retirement (apart from regular retirement) and hiring back former public officials on a contract bas
