SL PM calls for Iranian investments in energy sector

Today (November 6) at the Temple Trees, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena had a courtesy call from Alireza Delkhosh, the recently appointed Iranian ambassador. During his diplomatic tenure, the Ambassador pledged to further expand the economic and cultural links between Iran and Sri Lanka, citing the longstanding friendship and close sociocultural ties between the two nations.

According to the prime minister, Iran now has the chance to engage in industries other than the energy industry, like manufacturing and agriculture. He also expressed gratitude to Iran for helping Sri Lanka with development efforts and an early economic recovery from present issues.

Anura Dissanayake, the prime minister’s secretary, and K Soheil, the head of the Iran Embassy’s economic and consular section, were also present at the meeting.
