According to MP Wajira Abeywardena, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has officially announced an initiative to support the 1.6 million public sector workers as well as the 8 million private sector workers, with an emphasis on enhancing the country’s economic well-being.
He noted that in this year’s budget, President Ranil Wickremesinghe intends to raise the pay of 1.6 million government workers, with comparable changes being made in the private sector.
“The official programme of President Wickremesinghe seeks to strengthen the public and private sectors, which collectively employ millions of people,” the MP stated.
MP Abeywardena emphasised the value of promoting harmony and endorsing the nation’s all-encompassing development initiative.
