The proposed budget for 2024 has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
During this morning’s Cabinet meeting (November 13, 11), approval was granted.
As a result, President Ranil Wickremesinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, will deliver the nation’s 78th Budget Speech at noon today at the Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill for the fiscal year 2024.
The 2024 Budget Second Reading discussion will thereafter take place for seven days, from November 14 to November 21, excluding Sundays.
Moreover, November 21 at 6:00 p.m. is when the Second Reading of the Budget vote is supposed to take place.
