President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced during his 2024 Budget Speech in Parliament that the school insurance programme known as “Suraksha,” which was introduced in 2016 but subsequently discontinued, will be revived.
Accordingly, the President states that by 2024, every pupil in school will benefit from this insurance programme.
