A school wall in Wellampitiya reportedly collapsed on a group of pupils, resulting in the death of a 6-year-old child and the injuries of five others.
As a result, one student was hospitalised to Lady Ridgeway Hospital in Colombo and five others were rushed to the Colombo National Hospital.
Hospital sources attested to the fact that the student admitted to Lady Ridgeway Hospital did not suffer any major injuries, and that one of the five students undergoing treatment at the National Hospital is in critical condition.
