Mahinda Rajapaksa, the former president, has pledged his support for the effective execution of the 2024 budget.
Rajapaksa reaffirmed that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is a government-affiliated political party and promised not to take any actions that would jeopardise the 2024 Budget’s chances of passing.
Rajapaksa made these remarks in response to inquiries from the press following his veneration at Sri Dalada Maligawa, the Temple of the Tooth Relic, in Kandy.
In addition, Namal Rajapaksa, a member of the Sri Lankan People’s Party, said that the party will continue to support the budget and simply point out any inconsistencies.
