Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Eastern and Uva provinces, the Meteorology Department says.
Several spells of showers will occur in Northern and north-central provinces and Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Hambantota districts.
Fairly heavy showers of above 50mm are likely at some places in Ampara and Batticaloa districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere on the island after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly strong winds of about 30-40 kmph can be expected at times in the Eastern slopes of the Central hills and Northern, North-Central, North-western, Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
