The Islamic Unity Forum formed with the intention to unite the Islamic organizations operating in Sri Lanka under one umbrella has announced the Appointment of Alhaj Hussain Mohammed, Chairman of Sri Lanka Islamic Centre and son of Former speaker of Parliament Marhoom Al-Haj M.H.Mohamad and As-Seyed Naqeeb Maulana, President of the All Ceylon Supreme Council of Sufi Thariqas (SCOT), son of former Western Province Governor Marhoom Al-Haj As-Seyed Alavi Moulana as the senior advisors to the forum.
The resolution was passed unanimously at the meeting of the Islamic Unity Forum held last month, Fiyaz Mohamed , Administration officer of Islamic Unity Forum informed. Islamic Unity Forum consist 29 Islamic organizations operating in Sri Lanka.
