The Department of Meteorology forecasts thundershowers in Northern, North-central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, with fairly strong winds (around 40 kmph) in North-central, Eastern, Central, Uva, and Northwestern provinces.
Ground frost is possible in Nuwara-Eliya during early hours. After 2:00 p.m., showers or thundershowers may occur in parts of Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Western provinces, as well as Galle and Matara districts.
Sea areas from Trincomalee to Hambantota may experience showers or thundershowers, with north-easterly winds at 30-40 kmph, occasionally reaching 50-60 kmph in areas off Colombo to Hambantota. Rough seas are expected in those regions.
