Six male students from Sabaragamuwa University have been arrested by Samanalawewa Police for allegedly ragging a female student.
The arrest follows an investigation prompted by a complaint received on the ‘1997’ hotline on January 14.
The suspects, fourth-year students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, were taken into custody at Samanalawewa Police Station on January 28.
The arrested individuals, aged 23 to 25, hail from Morawaka, Rukgahawila, Aluttarama, Imaduwa, and Kithalawa areas. Further investigations are ongoing.
