The divisions between Muslims can give negative impact on the future of the Muslim community itself.
Therefore efforts to unify Muslims should be widespread throughout the Muslim community, General Secretary of the All Ceylon Jamiyyatul Ulama Ash-Sheikh Arkam Nuramith said.
He said this while founders of the Islamic Unity Forum paid a visit to his home to condole the recent passing of his youngest son.
Sri Lanka is a country that gives priority to Buddhism, and other religions are given equal rights. All people are entitled to equal rights as citizens of the country.
Sri Lankan Muslims can build the country together as citizens of this country,he further said
During this visit, As-Sayyid Salim Rifai Maulana, the founder and present leader of the Islamic Unity Forum, was represented by his brother As-Sayyid Thiham Rifai Maulana, and other founders As-Sayyid Dr.Hassan Maulana Al-Qadiri, Ash. Abdul Mujeeb (Gaffoori) with Administrative Officer Fiyaz Muhammad were also present.
