Woman shot by suspects robbing store at Meegoda Economic Centre

A 23-year-old woman sustained injuries after being shot by two unidentified gunmen during an attempted burglary at a shop in the Meegoda Economic Centre early this morning.

According to the police, the suspects arrived at the scene on a motorcycle and opened fire, targeting the woman who was working as a cashier at the store.

Following the shooting, the assailants proceeded to steal money from the shop before fleeing the area.

The injured woman, a resident of Meegoda, has been transported to the Homagama Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities at the Meegoda Hospital have initiated investigations to apprehend the suspects involved in the incident.
