The Meteorology Department has issued a weather advisory indicating the likelihood of showers in various regions across Sri Lanka. Residents in the Eastern and Uva provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa, Matale, and Nuwara-Eliya districts, are advised to anticipate several spells of showers throughout the day.
In addition, a few showers are expected in the Northern province and the Anuradhapura district.
For the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, along with the Galle and Matara districts, showers or thundershowers may occur after 2.00 p.m.
Residents in these areas should also be aware of fairly strong winds, reaching speeds of about 30-40 kmph at times. These winds are forecasted particularly in the eastern slopes of the central hills, as well as in the Northern, North-Central, Southern, North-western, Uva, and Eastern provinces.
Furthermore, misty conditions are expected in certain places within the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.
