State Minister for Mass Media, Shantha Bandara, announced the imminent introduction of the Electronic Media Broadcasting Authority Act to Parliament.
During a news conference at the Presidential Media Centre, he also revealed progress on a national media policy currently under Cabinet consideration.
Additionally, initiatives to enhance financial management within the ministry and transform key institutions like Rupavahini Corporation and the Postal Department were highlighted.
Amendments to the Electronic Media Broadcasting Authority Act and preparations for the Chartered Institute of Journalists were also discussed, signaling significant developments in Sri Lanka’s media landscape.
