Japan Contributes 40,000 Metric Tons of Diesel for Sri Lanka’s Health Sector

The Japanese Government has contributed 40,000 MT of Diesel for vehicles, including ambulances, utilized for transportation services in Sri Lanka’s Health Sector.

As per the Ministry of Health, the official handover of the aid to the Health Ministry occurred at the Dolphin Jetty in the Colombo Port today (Feb 19).

Health Minister Ramesh Pathirane received the fuel supply from Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mizukoshi Hideaki, in the presence of Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva.

Furthermore, the Ministry announced the launch of a Fuel Management Information System (FMIS) to document details of the fuel distribution, vehicles receiving fuel, and participating health institutions. The FMIS system has been established with assistance from the Japanese Government.
