The Islamic Unity forum decided to intervene in the matter of any member organization of the forum as happened to the Dewatagaha Darga Sharif recently.
This decision was taken in a special meeting held on May 21 organized to consider the request of Alhaj Al Alim Ihsan Iqbal Qadiri, Chairman of Assunna Trust, a member organization of the Forum, that the Islamic Unity Forum should intervene regarding the video published on social media, which damaged the reputation of the Dewatagaha Darga Sharif.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee of the Islamic Unity Forum, Former Appellate court Judge Hon. M. M. Abdul Gafoor. Leaders of member organizations of the Forum Assunna Trust, Muhabbath National Peace Council, All Ceylon Thouheed Jamaat, All Ceylon Sufi Spiritual Association, Salama, Sri Lanka Jamathe Islami, National Surah Council and many others presented their views.
The Forum accepted the guidance provided by Marsoof Maulana AAL, Islamic Unity Forum Constitution Drafting Committee member and Chairman of Siddi Lebbe Research Institute, , that any member organization should first discuss such matters at their administrative level and file a complaint with the legal entity they are registered with. The forum also accepted the request of the forum members to intervene in the matter of all other 37 organizations that are members of the Islamic Unity forum as well as in the issue of Dewatagaha mosque and Darga Sharif.
