The selling rate of a US dollar was recorded at Rs. 299.35, today According to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, while the current buying rate stands at Rs. 290.30.
The selling rate of the US dollar has fallen below Rs. 300 for the first time since June , 2023.
Meanwhile, The Central Bank of Sri Lanka announced that headline inflation, as measured by the year-on-year (Y-o-Y) change in the Colombo Consumer Price Index, entered negative territory in September 2024. This marks the first instance of deflation since September 2015, with a recorded deflation rate of 0.5%.
