The Sri Lankan Muslim Professionals and Business Association (SLAMP) was formed with the objectives of attracting Malaysian investors (FDI) to the country, strengthening academics and educational institutions, and strengthening diplomatic relations, said its founding chairman, Dr. Ismath Ramzi.
He also said that the association was formed after a year of working on these objectives.
Many Sri Lankan academics, professionals, and entrepreneurs living in Malaysia have joined this association. Its work is being carried out in collaboration with the Sri Lankan High Commission in Malaysia.
The association’s mission is also to engage in the welfare of Sri Lankans visiting Malaysia. The association’s chairman, Dr. Ismath Ramzi, said that the association has also contacted the Under 19 Sri Lankan women’s Cricket team, which is currently on a tour to Malaysia.
