Saudi Arabia will distribute 700 tons of dates to 102 countries during the upcoming Ramadan as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Gift Program for Providing Dates. This marks a significant increase of 200 tons from last year, reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Muslim communities worldwide during the holy month.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, in coordination with Saudi embassies, will facilitate the distribution. Minister Sheikh Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Alsheikh expressed gratitude for the continuous support of the Saudi leadership in strengthening global humanitarian efforts. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the Kingdom’s mission to spread Islamic values, promote peace, and counter extremism.
With logistical preparations finalized, the dates will reach recipient countries in time for Ramadan 2025, ensuring that millions of Muslims benefit from this generous initiative.
Notably, Sri Lanka recently received a consignment of 50 tons of premium Saudi dates, reflecting the strong bilateral ties between the two nations and the Kingdom’s ongoing support for the Sri Lankan Muslim community.
