Saudi Arabia has announced a major revision to its visa policy affecting travelers from 14 countries, including Pakistan, effective February 1, 2025. Multiple-entry visas for business, tourism, and family visits have been suspended during the Hajj season. Affected travelers will now receive single-entry visas valid for 30 days only.
The move aims to prevent unauthorized Hajj participation and illegal employment, which have previously caused overcrowding and safety issues. The change does not apply to Hajj, Umrah, diplomatic, or residency visas.
The affected countries are Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tunisia, and Yemen.
Saudi authorities stress the new rules will improve safety, support immigration control, and align with Vision 2030 goals. Travelers are urged to apply early, follow health requirements, and update pilgrim information.
Travel agencies anticipate processing delays, and industries like aviation and hospitality may see fluctuating demand. Authorities also remind travelers to check eligibility for mahram exemptions and expect priority for first-time pilgrims during Hajj registration.
