The 109th day of hearings in the main Easter Sunday attack criminal trial (Case No. HC(TAB) 2972/21) against 24 accused was taken up before the Trial-at-Bar on 11 September 2025.
All accused were present in court, except for the 17th accused, who has passed away. All parties in the case were duly represented.
Deputy Solicitor General Sudarshana De Silva informed the court that the Supreme Court has not yet appointed a five-judge bench to hear the matter, nor has it communicated any decision regarding the constitution of such a bench to the Attorney General’s Department.
The case is scheduled to be called again on 14 September 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
