President Leaves for U.S. to Attend UN General Assembly, Addressing on Wednesday

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to depart for the United States today to take part in the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the President’s Media Division (PMD) announced.

The President will deliver Sri Lanka’s address to the General Assembly on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 3:15 p.m. (U.S. time).

During his visit, President Dissanayake will also hold bilateral discussions with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and several world leaders, focusing on strengthening Sri Lanka’s international partnerships.

In addition, he will meet with members of the Sri Lankan diaspora in the United States.

Accompanying the President on this official visit is Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Vijitha Herath.
