A new ticket counter offering air tickets at subsidised prices for Sri Lankan migrant workers has been inaugurated at the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency (SLFEA) in Narahenpita.

The counter was officially opened yesterday (October 16) under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra, as part of the government’s latest initiative to support citizens leaving for foreign employment.

Under this new facility, overseas job seekers can purchase air tickets at prices lower than those in the open market, regardless of their destination country.

Officials said the move aims to reduce the financial burden on workers departing for employment abroad and ensure greater transparency and convenience in the ticketing process.
