The government has taken steps to establish four new High Courts in Colombo 07 with immediate effect, in line with the Anti-Corruption National Action Plan (2025–2029).
According to the Ministry of Justice and National Integration, the decision was prompted by an urgent requirement to expand court infrastructure to efficiently manage legal proceedings and responsibilities assigned under the national anti-corruption framework.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to transfer four buildings — currently administered by the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government — to the Ministry of Justice and National Integration for this purpose.
The new High Courts will be set up at the following locations in Colombo:

No. B 12, Stanmore Crescent
Officials say the move is expected to strengthen judicial capacity and accelerate the handling of cases, particularly those related to corruption and complex criminal matters.
