The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has appointed two new Deputy Governors, following confirmation by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as Minister of Finance, the Bank announced.

Dr. C. Amarasekara, who previously served as an Assistant Governor, will assume duties as Deputy Governor from 24 October 2025. Meanwhile, former Assistant Governor K.G.P. Sirikumara is set to take office on 3 November 2025.

The Central Bank said the appointments form part of ongoing institutional strengthening measures aimed at enhancing leadership capacity, governance, and oversight within the nation’s financial regulator.

The additions to the senior management team come as the Central Bank continues to play a critical role in Sri Lanka’s economic stabilization efforts and the implementation of key monetary and financial reforms.
