The Sri Lankan Embassy in Rome has announced that it will begin accepting applications for the conversion of driving licences under the bilateral agreement on mutual recognition of licences between Sri Lanka and Italy, starting April 10, 2026.
According to an official notice, the Embassy’s Consular Section will allocate April 10 and April 15 exclusively for processing these applications, anticipating a high number of requests.
As a result, all other consular services on these two days will be limited to emergency matters only.
The Embassy has sought the public’s understanding and cooperation, noting that the temporary arrangement is necessary to effectively handle the expected increase in applications.
