According to Al Khaleej, a Kuwaiti academic delegation departed a scientific meeting conducted at the University of Bahrain in protest of the presence of an Israeli mission.
“A delegation of Kuwaiti universities exits a lecture conducted by an Israeli from Tel Aviv University held at Bahrain University,” the Kuwaiti Youth League for Jerusalem wrote on Twitter.
It went on to say: “The delegation is greeted with a standing ovation… Normalization has always been and always will be tyranny.”
“The withdrawal of the Kuwaiti delegation underlined the official Kuwaiti policy, which is unambiguous in rejecting all forms of normalization with the occupation,” said Mosaab Al-Motawaa, the head of the Kuwaiti Youth League for Jerusalem.
“Such a posture became one of the weapons that hit the Israeli occupation entity that brings harm to it,” Al-Motawaa continued.
The University of Bahrain’s college of business administration announced a conference on the 2nd and 3rd of March but did not mention that an Israeli delegation would be attending.
Due to the participation of an Israeli writer, a Kuwaiti cultural delegation boycotted the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature in January.
In September 2020, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain agreed to normalize relations with Israel. The agreement was brokered by Donald Trump, the former president of the United States.
