Litro Gas announced today that issues related to gas payments have been resolved.
The gas distributors said the issues were resolved following a discussion with the concerned authorities last night.
Unloading, refilling, and distribution from the Litro Gas Storage Depot at Kerawalapitiya had already started last night, Litro Gas said.
Gas supply will return to normal today as these issues have been resolved and it was previously reported that gas shortages have resumed in Sri Lanka by primary gas distributors due to the dollar crisis.
An official of Litro Gas said that 2500 metric tons of gas were unloaded from the ship which was anchored in Sri Lankan waters.
In the meantime, gas supply has started, he said, adding that the company has been able to supply the required gas reserves to consumers in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs Lasantha Alagiyawanna told parliament yesterday that there was a good chance that cooking gas prices would rise again.
He noted that the price of gas in the world market has risen sharply to an all-time high and that it has the potential to increase its price.
