Assalamu Alaikum !

EID UL FITHR MUBARAK-
Blessings and Wishes to All of You !!!

This year, Allah (SWT) gave the Muslim community of Sri Lanka the privilege of fasting for 30 days, in the dignified month of Ramalaan, for which we owe a debt of gratitude to Allah SWT -Alhamdu Lillah!

After fasting for 30 days, we are today celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, on the 1st day of the month of Shawwal.

To all Muslims who celebrate this great day, I extend my heartfelt, sincere good wishes for a Happy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Prophet Muhammadh Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam (PBUH) made it clear to us, how we should behave on this Eid day, in the context of an interconnected world.

“The Feast of EID” is a good way to sanctify man. We are obliged, to entertain our neighbors, as well as the poor and the needy. It is very important to treat and help alleviate their difficulties.

The Prophet Muhammadh Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam (PBUH), also enjoined SADAQATHUL FITHR, so that no poor person would go hungry on this auspicious day. The idea is that everyone should be happy on the Eid Festival day and not go hungry.

In Sri Lanka, we belong to multiple communities, Sinhala, Tamil and Christians, with whom we live together.
So, it is imperative of the times, to treat all of them well, especially the poor and needy, no matter who they are. This is also the way of the Prophet Muhammadh Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam (PBUH). So, let us spend this day, in the manner the Holy Prophet Muhammadh Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam (PBUH), showed us.

On this holy EID UL FITHR day, let us specially pray to Allah SWT, to ease the suffering of all peoples around the world and for the economic sustenance, upliftment and development of the world, including Sri Lanka, which is currently facing an economic crisis.

Thank You.
Happy Eid-Ul-Fithr Mubarak…
