The Mawanella Magistrate’s Court today (05) ordered the release of 14 of the 46 suspects who were remanded for more than three years in connection with the alleged damage to Buddha statues in and around Mawanella on the instructions of the Attorney General.
The court has ordered the release of the 14 suspects on the advice of the Attorney General as they have no intention of pursuing legal action against them.
