A team of doctors and nurses including the lead Cardiothoracic surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital London, is making a visit to Thanjavur, India to perform cardiac surgeries free of charge on a charity basis.
Dr. Rayes Musthafa who is currently living in London involved in organising this and he is the Paediatric Intensivist of the team.This is their second charity mission.
Dr.Rayes Musthafa has negotiated to accommodate 6 children from Sri Lanka.
Surgeries, accommodation and air ticket to patient and parents will be free too.
Already 2 Tetralogy of Fallots are lined up and echos seen and approved by the surgeon.
They can accommodate some simple cases like large VSDs and ASD that are not suitable for device closure.
