World Bank pledges $2 billion in aid to Pakistan

The World Bank announced that it will provide $2 billion in aid to Pakistan, which was affected by the floods.

According to national media reports, World Bank South Asia Region Vice President Martin Raiser said in a statement in Pakistan that they are extremely sorry for the loss of life as a result of the flood disaster.

Expressing that they are working with the federal and provincial governments to provide emergency aid to those most affected by the floods, Raiser said that they are planning a $2 billion aid to Pakistan as the World Bank.

More than 1,600 people have lost their lives as a result of floods caused by monsoon rains in Pakistan since 14 June.
