The University Grants Commission has decided to admit graduates of Indian universities recognized in graduate appointments.
The decision was announced by Minister Daklas Devananda along with Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Education Minister Susil Premajayantha yesterday (October 27).
Those who were displaced due to the past war and stayed in India for a period of time, who had studied and graduated from Indian universities, have returned to their native places after the end of the war. They were rejected on the ground of being foreign graduates during recent recruitments of graduates for the civil service.
In this case, it is noteworthy that it has been decided by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education to induct the graduates approved by the University of Sri Lanka Grants commission into the government service.(NewsNow)
