On November 29, 1947, United Nations Resolution 181 recognized Israel as a state in Palestine.
In commemoration of this unjust decision, November 29th is celebrated annually as Palestine Support Day.
In this regard, a conference to express support for Palestine organized by Sri Lanka Palestine Support Association was held on yesterday(November 29) at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall(BMICH).
United Nations Resident Representative for Sri Lanka Hana Singer, Sri Lanka’s Palestinian Ambassador Zuhair Hamdallah Zaid, Palestine Sri Lanka Unity Committee Chairman Vimal Ratnayake, Committee member Amir Issadeen Members of Parliament and many intellectuals also participated in this conference.(NewsNow)
