The “Break-Fast at Sunset” event, which was previously organized but was altered owing to the pandemic, will be held once more on April 2, 2023 at 5.30 p.m. at Independence Square. Anyone free to participate in the customs and traditions of Ramadan is issued an open invitation by the Sri Lankan Muslim Community.

“Our brothers and sisters in and around Colombo are cordially invited. The Sri Lanka Muslim Civil Society released a statement saying, “In reality, we would love to have greater participation from other communities/faiths and the opportunity to welcome them.

According to a member of the organizing committee, the Sri Lanka Muslim Civil Society is once again organizing this on behalf of community civil society organizations.

The Muslim community becomes more active throughout the month of Ramadan. The majority of the time, people see them swarming to mosques for prayers, yet the month represents much more than just spiritual purification. It is also intended to purify a person’s character by raising the standard of their interactions and dealings with people around them. Therefore, sharing a meal together or making it easier for others to do so is regarded as among the best examples of good actions and moral excellence.

The committee member added that Ramadan is not only a month of fasting but also a month of cultivating the habits of giving, sharing, and practicing good character. The committee member quoted the Prophet Muhammad, may peace be upon him, as saying that “By his good character, a believer will attain the degree of one who prays during the night and fasts during the day”.

He spoke about the occasion and said, “We anticipate hosting between 1,500 and 2,000 guests for “BreakFast At Sunset.” There will be plenty of parking available because of the venue’s location, however everyone must use some discretion when doing so. It will be brief, pleasant, and uncomplicated, and there will be food provided there when it ends.
