According to his doctors, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is currently receiving treatment for a lung infection while also battling a long-term blood malignancy.

Concerns about the 86-year-old’s deteriorating health increased after he was rushed to the intensive care unit of Milan’s San Raffaele Hospital on Wednesday. His media empire has made him a billionaire.

Drs. Alberto Zangrillo and Fabio Ciceri announced on Thursday that Berlusconi had previously been diagnosed with chronic myelomonocytic leukemia in their initial statement regarding his condition. (CML). They simply mentioned that the cancer was not acute but did not specify when it was initially discovered.

They added that the condition was connected to the cancer and that Silvio Berlusconi was now receiving treatment for a lung infection in intensive care.

White blood cells are harmed by CML, which is typically incurable, according to medical experts. According to information given to patients by the British National Health Service, younger persons often have a better outlook while over 70% of men will live for at least five years after their diagnosis.

The hospital was visited by three of Berlusconi’s five children on Thursday, including daughter Marina and sons Luigi and Pier Silvio. Fedele Confalonieri, a close friend and business associate, also paid him a visit.
