New report on delimitation handed over to PM

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena received the most recent report of the Delimitation Committee this morning. (April 11).

Mahinda Deshapriya, the head of the Delimitation Committee, delivered the paper, which includes information about the votes and a map of the local councils.

For the purpose of defining ward boundaries for local governments, a five-member National Delimitation Committee was established in November 2022.

The committee includes Mr. Jayalath R.V. Dissanayake, Mrs. W.M.M.R. Adikari, Mr. K. Thavalingam, and Mr. I.A. Hameed. It is chaired by the former election chief.

In his capacity as the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, PM Gunawardena appointed it in a special gazette notification.
