According to the Ministry of Power and Energy, a decision regarding whether or not to maintain the higher fuel allotment in light of the festive season around the Sinhala and Tamil New Years will be made today (April 17).
With effect from midnight on April 4, the government had implemented procedures to enhance the existing gasoline allowance under the QR code system.
Prior to tomorrow (April 18), it was apparently decided to restore the fuel quotas to their prior levels.
