Sega Sammy Holdings of Japan has purchased Rovio Entertainment, the company behind the Angry Birds video game.
Popular among Sega Sammy Holdings video gamers is Sonic the Hedgehog.
For the agreement, Sega will pay €706 million (£625 million).
Rovio also disclosed a review of its operations and a sale of the company in February of last year.
However, they revealed on Saturday that they are in discussions with Sega about selling their company.
In 2009, the Finnish business Rovio became well-known for its Angry Birds franchise.
Angry Birds is the first smartphone game to acquire a billion downloads, claims Rovio.
Additionally, a number of spin-offs have been made, and two films have also been made.
