Kanchana Wijesekera, Minister of Power and Energy, said that electricity pricing will be reviewed and changed by July 2023.
Minister Wijesekera said on Twitter that the power rate would be evaluated and altered in accordance with government policy.
Additionally, he said that it is in accordance with the Cabinet’s December 2022 decision to implement a cost-reflective pricing mechanism and to review and revise electricity prices twice a year, in January and July.
