President invites Japanese investments to return to SL

On Thursday, May 25, while still in Japan, President Ranil Wickremesinghe met with a number of former state officials there, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).

Yasuo Fukuda, a former Japanese prime minister, and the president met this morning in Tokyo for a breakfast meeting, according to the PMD.

Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda and the Japan-Sri Lanka Association sponsored the breakfast gathering.

The PMD added that today’s meeting between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga took place.

President Wickremesinghe emphasized Sri Lanka’s economic revival throughout the meeting.

Additionally, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has welcomed Japanese investors to return.

The President is presently in Tokyo, Japan, where he will speak at the 28th Nikkei Future of Asia Conference.

Yesterday (May 24), President Ranil Wickremesinghe departed for Japan, where he will remain until May 27.
