Gemunu Wijeratne, president of the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA), said they anticipate changing the bus tariffs during the review of bus fares in July.
He notes that even if the price of diesel was not changed this time, the fee adjustment will be made in light of the fuel price decrease that occurred during the fuel price adjustment last month.
Taking part in a news conference conducted in Colombo today (June 1), Wijeratne recalled that the price of diesel had dropped by Rs. 15 last month. He said that they will pressure the government to pass the savings on to the general population when the government will review bus rates on July 1.
