The decision on the case filed against State Minister Diana Gamage’s membership in parliament has been delayed by the Court of Appeal.
Thus, the judgment, which was scheduled to be released today, was postponed until July 25.
Appeals Court President Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne and Justice A. Marikkar heard the plea this morning.
The case was brought by social activist Oshala Herath, who asked for a writ order barring the state minister from serving in parliament.
Herath had claimed that because the State Minister also possesses British citizenship, it is against the Immigration and Emigration Act to issue her a diplomatic passport.
