According to Education Minister Susil Premajayantha, a unique dengue control program would be put into place at a number of schools around the island before the start of the new academic year.
Premajayantha thus disclosed that the program will first be carried out in all provinces after being carried out over the weekend in 144 schools in the Colombo district.
Nearly 4,000 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka so far in 2023, only in the first two weeks of May.
